STFC ASB/IoP PAB Workshop - Towards a future XFEL

On Tuesday February 16th 2016, at 10:00, the STFC will be hosting a joint Workshop, in conjunction with the Particle Accelerators and Beams Group, to consider R&D goals for FELs aiming towards a potential future UK XFEL. The workshop will provide a high level overview of the work being carried out, the key players in the area and highlight any other relevant activities and events that are scheduled to take place. The workshop will be held in the Franklin Theatre at the Institute of Physics in London.

The event will include talks from both UK and international speakers. Two UK accelerator institutes will to talk about their work in this area and the international experts will provide perspectives from overseas. These talks will help to stimulate a discussion on how the UK can develop its strategy and optimise its impact in the context of the global programme in this area. The aim of the workshop will be to gather the views of the community and a discussion will be held to talk about the relevant areas in which the STFC can play a leading role.
